Boiler Leak Repair in Greenwood, SC

Here’s a quick update on a recent plumbing job we completed in Greenwood, SC.

Initial Discovery: We found a leak coming from the boiler and began uncovering the line. After the first assessment, we planned a return to dig deeper and pinpoint the exact location of the leak.

• In-Depth Investigation: On our return, we dug down to expose the 3” steel line, cut off the insulation, and identified the leak. It became clear that we needed to replace an elbow and approximately 3 feet of pipe to make a proper repair.

• Repair Work: We cut out the damaged section of pipe and elbow, replacing it with new pipe and elbow, then secured everything using 2 heat-rated Romac couplings.

• Final Step: After the insulation was installed, we came back to backfill the hole and complete the job.
